Bringing a global brand down under
The Australian leg of the World Rally Championship is a popular part of the annual touring event. The series is the ultimate test for some of the world’s best drivers, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle in equally spectacular settings. Ahead of the 2013 championship, organisers decided to make a new mark in Australia. And that’s where we came in.

Each year the World Rally Championship takes place in locations ranging from mountain passes to forests blanketed in snow. The Australian leg of the championship is held outside of Coffs Harbour, in a setting that is equally as rugged.
We were asked to capture the essence of the event in a concept that incited excitement whilst also showing off the Coffs Harbour and Central New South Wales region. It had to appeal to a diverse audience and it had to be epic.
Our ‘Wild By Nature’ concept has been the driving force behind the creative for each event since 2013. It captures grit and excitement, speaks to Australia’s terrain and reflects the idea of untamed driving. To engage kids in the event, we also created an illustrated kangaroo named Dash.
Every year we have use the Wild By Nature concept as the starting point in the development of fresh creative. The annual brand roll out spanned from 2013 until 2019 when the championship round was moved to NZ.
